  • About me

I studied traditional boat building in Portsmouth’s Historic Ship Yard, where I gained a Level 3 City & Guilds qualification in Marine Construction, Systems Engineering and Maintenance(Boat Building) 600/2306/5.

I’ve been around boats and the sea all my life. I learnt to sail small dinghies as a child and cut my teeth sailing around the UK, France & Ireland.

I sailed to New Zealand with my young family from the UK on our 47’ yacht ‘WALRUS’ and since then, New Zealand has become our amazing home.

  • Workshop

The workshop is ideal situated adjacent to the boat yard and marina.

Close-up of two screwdrivers with red and black handles resting on a white painted surface, possibly a windowsill or countertop, with a blurred background of workshop or garage tools and furniture.
  • Other trades

I have good working relationships with many of the other services in the yard to assist with more involved or major structural repairs.

Opua Marina is a great place to get your vessel into the great condition it deserves and hopefully I can help you.

  • The Boat Yard

Haul out and clean hardstand with everything onsight.
